Well It is just like another kissass. They try to be nice and accomadating but they are not. It took the taxi drive to find this hotel 40 minutes and it is really in a hideous place, so don't fall for what is mentioned as far as the vicinity goes in the Booked.net. It is utterly exaggerated for the location of this hotel. You will be lost easily. The bedroom is not as comfortable as you would think and you can tell from the picture, so it was not worth my money. Also, the hotel manager will try to charge you extra 3% for using your credit card and it was not even mentioned by the Booked.net and so to save themselves money for paying tax to the government, they ask for cash instead. It was very upsetting and it was not fair of both Booked.net and the hotel for mentioning it beforehand.
I liked very much the Templeside hostal. I felt like I was at home. Bobbie was very friendly and helpful to expline us the most important place to visit in Beijin. There are 2 subway station near the hotel (20 minutes by walk). We went every day to the Xisi Station and one time we took the bus number 7 to take to the Zoo. We booked the Vip deluxe Room.
We think that the first time it is not easy to get to the hostal. The taxi didn´t know where it was. It would be useful add more detail in the address and the map.
Fantastic place. Really quite hutong in amongst chaos of Beijing. In an area close to Behai and Hohai but not particularly touristy. Right next to Xisi underground station. Lovely staff particularly Emma who's a laugh. I'd stay here again. If, however, you are loud and like staying up late be aware that families do stay there and walls are thin. It is possible to be young and go there though.
The room was very clean. Great water pressure, albeit you shower next to the toilet. But, that is the norm. My bed was comfortable for china. It was quiet when I was there, but the rooms all go out into the courtyard. I stayed in the deluxe, instead of the courtyard guest house. It was smack dab in the middle of the hutong. I couldn't have been happier. They are my people.
Excellent service from all staff, friendly relaxed environment very central
Beautiful and relaxing outside courtyard away from city bustle. The friendliness of a hostel with facilities of a hotel
Deluxe room was very good, breakfasts were tasty, but a bit expensive, even for Beijing. Good stuff.
The place has a very nice and welcoming atmosphere. The courtyard is beautiful and the location in a hutong and close to Xisi subway station is fantastic and very suitable to explore the city. I stayed in a single room with private bathroom. The room was simple but very clean. (The bed was quite hard but that seems to be normal in China.) I surely would have liked to stay longer than 3 nights.
Rooms were very clean,it was convenient to get everywhere very easy. Hotel staff was very friendly and very helpfully. Would stay again
Great atmosphere, great staff.
Everything was just fine - thanx!
Our time spent in Beijing was made more enjoyable due to the helpful and considerate staff at Beijing Templeside Courtyard. There was always an English speaker available, breakfasts were delicious, and they made great recommendations on places to see and shop (and how to get there). The decor was delightful and authentic. The room we booked was being renovated so we were upgraded to a nicer room with private bath at no extra charge. They made us feel like friends come to stay for a week. Thank you Bobby, Emma, Angelina, Emily, and Sister Cheng (I hope I got all the names right).
It was a little far from the airport (not their fault since their guest house is in City Center) but a shuttle was available (for a fee). Warning....shared bathroom is outside and not western style.
Stuff were very very friendly and look of whole courtyard was stunning. Like on the holiday at old grannys village.house with the patine of time. But very chinese traditional and authentic. Thay have a kittens there and is very family like. To find it is not that difficult as people write here. Its enough to find the Liu He Hutong street on the map and on that street you must find it. It has a red lampions at the entrance.
great experience to stay in hutong, lovely time and lovely people! It is quite different from regular hotels, probably you can only find this type of place in China. I like the atmosphere and neighborhood.
